What a great reminder to embrace our uniqueness. And… it could be a fun DIY project.

On - Alphonse Mucha

Amazingly gorgeous. Right? This is Alphonse Muchas work titled Nouveau Reverie. Given the way it draws you in, the name is very apropos.  One of the things I’m looking forward to the most is going to the Alphonse Mucha museum in Prague. He also designed costumes, props, jewelry, book covers, and the museum even has some of his original sketches. I saw his work the last time I was there but it was so long ago. And, it’s truly something special to see in person.

On - Sleeper Cars

We are in the final stages of preparing for our trip to Europe. This photo reminded me of the time a couple of weeks back when my husband asked if I’d like to take a sleeper car from Budapest to Prague. The answer was a resounding NO. The reason being A) It’s not as chic as it sounds and B) My mom and I almost took the same trip 15 years ago and the conductor was drunk and wanted us to share a bed. It was enough to ruin any kind of romantic notion I may have had. So, I’m not really down with the sleeper care thing. These ladies make me want to re-think my position on that.

"Hope" print by Simply Hue

Supposing you have tried and failed again and again. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down. -Mary Pickford

I saw this on a blog I love and it made me think about my mistakes…I’ve made lots of of them in my life. This is a great reminder that we can either stay down or choose to dust ourselves off and get back up…. Anytime! Why not choose this moment?

“Hope” is the thing with feathers—

That perches in the soul—

And sings the tune without the words—

And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—

And sore must be the storm—

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—

And on the strangest Sea—

Yet, never, in Extremity,

It asked a crumb—of Me.
